Jamás lo ha sido, sino un predio, una “possessió”, una finca rústica, dedicada a la explotación agrícola, forestal y ganadera.
Como casi todas las casas de “possessió” mallorquinas, especialmente las cercanas a la costa, tiene una torre de defensa por temor a las incursiones de los piratas sarracenos.
