One of the villages in the central plains of Mallorca is called Vilafranca de Bonany. This pueblo is famous for its annual Melon Festival. It was celebrated this last weekend. The biggest and best and heaviest melon wins the prize. The winning melon made the scales tip at 17,780 grammes. Wow. Congratulations.
You would have been right to expect a photo of the winning melon, or any melon for that matter. Instead I give you a photo, taken in the same village yesterday, that turned out much better. I think so, anyway.
