Fishermen’s Wharf

portocolom.jpg

A traditional Mallorcan fishing boat is called Llaüt.

In the old days these boats would be moored in garage type boat houses, like these seen here, during the winter times. Obviously, it is not winter yet. The boats are still out, and the fishing season is still in full swing.

A typical local fish for this time of year is the Llampuga (dolphin fish). We had one with friends last night – not self caught, though. It was delicious.

The photo was taken in the harbour village of Portocolom, near Felanitx, Mallorca, Spain. The date: November 3rd, 2007. The time was 18:47:21.
