In Sickness and in Health

hospital_manacor.jpg

When we first arrived in Mallorca, 20 years ago, there were four hospitals on the island. Now, there are ten or eleven. And a new Son Dureta replacement hospital is being built as we speak. There must be some profits in the healthcare business, don’t you think?

Anyway, the Hospital de Manacor, shown here, is proud of its 216 bed capacity. The hospital caters for an area of 162,000 inhabitants, in the eastern part of the island, extending from Artà to Santanyí and from Vilafranca to Capdepera.

The photo was taken in the town of Manacor, Mallorca, Spain. The date: November 13th, 2007. The time was 09:38:59.
