Place some crushed ice cubes into a chilled glass. Pour the Tequila over the ice and top up with orange juice. Stir well to mix. Slowly pour the grenadine (hence the sunrise effect!) and serve with a fresh fruit wedge on the glass rim.
Or:
Get up early. Go to a beach at one of the Calas on the east coast of Mallorca. Find your place. Take a deep breath. Wait for the sky to take on first a pink, then an orange colour. Wait a bit longer. Watch the sun rise slowly, ever so slowly, from beneath the horizon.
Allow yourself to be spellbound, as the sun grows bigger, quite fast now really, from a small glimpse to a quarter circle, to a half circle and finally, to a full circle. Take another deep breath and allow a moment of happiness to overcome you, taking in this age-old wonder.
And be happy to know that the sun will rise again tomorrow, and every day, as it has risen for almost forever.
The photo was taken in Cala Sa Nau, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: July 20th, 2008. The time was 06:40:41.
