Summertime is fiesta time in Mallorca. Manacor and Santanyí have had their summer festivities just recently. Son Macià, Sa Coma, Colònia de Sant Jordi, Pollença, Llubí, and Artà, amongst others, will celebrate their fiestas this weekend. Next week will see the start of the Festival Internacional de Jazz de Sa Pobla (August 6th – 26th). At the end of August, the Verbenas are coming up in Felanitx (August 22nd – 31st).

But tonight, it is time for Portocolom. It is time to learn some Ball de Bot, if you do not already master this Mallorcan folk dance. Abeniara is a folklore group from Felanitx, Mallorca, that performs folk dance to Catalan and Spanish music. Tonight, at 20h30, Abeniara will give a beginners workshop in Ball de Bot. The venue is Plaça del Commerç in Portocolom. The workshop will be repeated one week later, August 8th, in the same venue and at the same time. Both workshops are admission free. 

Tomorrow night, a concert with American Gospel Music will be held in the Església parroquial del Carme in Portocolom, at 22h00. Admission is free for the concert as well.

Elsewhere, Simply Red perform in the Plaza de Toros, August 3rd, and Diana Krall gives a concert in the Palma Arena, August 5th. Both venues are in Palma de Mallorca. Tickets are available from 45 €.
