Etruscan Delights

The Etruscans do not really have a relationship with Mallorca, or Spain at all, to my knowledge. But there is a delightful and interesting exhibition about the Etruscan civilisation to be seen in Palma de Mallorca right now.

The Etruscan culture developed in the Italian peninsula after about 800 B. C.. There is sufficient evidence that early Rome was dominated by Etruscans until the Romans invaded Veii in 396 BC.

Yes, the Romans did come to Mallorca in 123 B. C.

The exhibition is called Prínceps Etruscos. It is shown at the Caixa Forum Palma until the end of August. Admission is free. Opening hours are Mon. to Fri., 10h00 to 21h00, and Sun., 10h00 to 14h00.

The photo was taken in Palma de Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: August 1st, 2008. The time was 14:16:40.
