Law and Order

The Judicial System in Mallorca is concentrated in the main in Palma de Mallorca, although there is a Law Court in Manacor, too.

The building shown here is Can Berga, a baroque town palace dating from the 18th Century. It is now the seat of the Palacio de Justicia (Magistrate’s Court) in Palma de Mallorca, the highest court on the Balearic Islands.

This High Court is in the news these days, for the case against the former Mayor of Andratx, Eugenio Hidalgo, who faces a whole litany of fraud and corruption charges, committed during his term of office.

The photo was taken in Palma de Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: April 23rd, 2008. The time was 11:50:49.
