Al Capone in Mallorca

Of course there is no connection between Al Capone, the gangster boss and Mafiosi from Chicago (USA), back in the 1920s, and Mallorca.

But newsreel coverage have us believe that he used this type of car for his getaways from the gangland killings. I discovered this car wreck on the outskirts of Ca’s Concos des Cavaller (Mallorca) over 25 years ago, but it is still hidden away in the bushes, to this day. I think the car still is a beaute, after all these years.

The photo was taken near Felanitx, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: May 2nd, 2008. The time was 15:29:00.

  1. is tht al copones car or just another car tht looks like it and if it is tht is pretty cool

  2. U had puzzled us, we really believed that al-capone was here!!!!
Anyway this carr seems to be ambushed from the past waiting for someone to start working on it.
In other way, a tip for the post could be try to find a history that probably can match the info, this could be awesome.

  3. Good morning,
we are students of second year bachillerato. We’ve chosen this post for two reasons:
    1) We both likes this old car because represents an old time.
    2) Because we have met an Italian person from Sicila that now is sitting next to us, and now he’s saying that the car was from her grandpa. His name is Francesco.

  4. I’m with Gaston, this class of entries could have a history that match the picture and historic facts to make it more interestic.
Who knows, maybe government could give u a award for the work publishing Mallorca around the world… 😉
    Best regards,
    Carlos Moreno
