The Festival Internacional de Jazz Sa Pobla started Wednesday, August 6th, with a concert given by John Zorn Acoustic Masada.

The Sa Pobla Jazz Festival is an annual event in the Summer, now already in its 14th year. Three more concerts are scheduled during the month of August, all taking place in the Plaça Major, and starting at 22h30:

Wednesday, August 13th: Nicholas Payton Trío, Tuesday, August 19th: Big Yuyu Hot Band, Tuesday, August 26th: Jimmy Weinstein’s Traveling School Band. The concerts are admission free.

Jimmy Weinstein’s Traveling School offers a five day Jazz workshop from August 21st-26th. Details can be inquired by telephone under 971.544.111. 

The Second Sa Taronja Jazz Festival is staged in Andratx, at Asociación Sa Taronja. Four concerts are on offer during this weekend of August 8th-10th. The dates are tonight, August 8th, 22h00: Alain Pérez Trio with Javier Massó, Saturday, August 9th, 22h00: Yakou Tribe, Sunday, August 10th, 15h30 Wonderbrass, and Sunday, August 10th, 22h00: Mallorca Saxconnection. Admission charges are between 10 € and 18 €, or 50 € for all four concerts.
