I know I am repeating myself when I point again to Palma’s coat of arms including a murciélago, or bat. But the Palma insignia shown here was too nice to give it a miss; I hope you’ll excuse my repetitiveness. The ironworks with the impressive coat of arms, by the way, can be found above the main entrance to the market hall at Pere Garau‘s.
Of course, as you well know, bats have their forelimbs developed as wings, making them the only mammals with a sustained flight capability. I am not sure that this ability would much help the City of Palma, though, unless perhaps in times of la crisis.
Also, I promise never to mention the Palma murciélago ever again, unless perhaps I see one made of precious metals.
The photo was taken in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The date: December 11th, 2008. The time was 14:15:41.
