The ancient Chinese schools of thought of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism may help us on the way to achieve happiness.

Few Mallorcans have in the past sought solace from Far Eastern philosophies, I would have thought. They rather seem to have turned to the Catholic church for guidance.

However, the local newspapers published reports earlier this week stating that only 4 out of 10 marriages in Mallorca are celebrated in a church service nowadays. It would appear that the weave of Mallorcan culture is changing slowly but surely. The hold that the Catholic church doubtlessly had on Mallorcan society over centuries seems to be weakening.

Perhaps the patterns of happiness are changing as well, here.
