Peace At Last

After a lengthy and sometimes bitter confrontation between the proprietors of Es Fangar, the country estate with the largest extension in the Municipi de Manacor, and the Plataforma Camins Públics i Oberts, it would appear that at long last a peaceful compromise may have been reached.

Nature lovers and friends of the unspoilt Mallorcan countryside are now given free access to the finca as long as amblers come as pedestrians and without dogs, horses or other animals.

I think that a big Thank You is due to the German owner who seems to spend a massive fortune on the maintenance of this large property, a protected zone of Àrea Natural d’Especial Interès status. Let’s hope La Crisis does not diminish the good man’s resources to a level where he might want to revert once more to animosities and silly legal wrangles.

The photo was was taken near Manacor, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: February 20th, 2009. The time was 13:17:39.
