Sóller, La Plaza

The Plaça de la Constitució in Sóller is a fine place to be in, especially on a sunny day, almost hot, such as was yesterday. In fact, we had been trekking from the Embassament de Cúber up to the Cornisa des Cornadors Gran with an altitude of 956 m. I’ll tell you about that hike some other time once I have recuperated from my exhaustion but, this much just for now: it was a testing hike in pleasant company and ultimately, utterly rewarding.

Today, the aim is to show you a photo I took in Sóller yesterday and juxtapose it for the sake of contrast with an image taken by an unknown photographer circa 1910, as used on a postcard of the time. Enjoy.

The photo (top) was taken in Sóller, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: March 19th, 2011. The time was 17:25:30. The image (bottom) was borrowed from the Internet, courtesy of an unknown photographer. Gracias.
