Sobrassada From Mallorca

pebre_bord.jpg

The town of Felanitx, Mallorca, stages a weekly market, every Sunday. Four times a year, a special market is held.

One of those special market days was day before yesterday, when Felanitx celebrated its annual Fira del Pebre Bord.

The Pebre in question is the sweet chilly pepper, shown in today’s photograph. This sweet red pepper is used for that Mallorcan speciality, Sobrassada. If you live here, you will have tried it. I actually quite like it, especially on Mallorcan pà pagés, toasted over an open fire.

The photo was taken in the town of Felanitx, Mallorca, Spain. The date: October 21st, 2007. The time was 12:44:11.
