Imagine

imagine.jpg

I admit that this might be a bit far fetched.

Twenty-seven years ago John Lennon was killed by one Mark Chapman outside the Dakota building in New York City, opposite Central Park.

The man in my photo clearly was not John Lennon, nor did he sing a John Lennon song. He sang a Bob Dylan song actually. It is actually Uruguayan Enrique Oxandabarat, a long-time Palma resident.

I just wanted to pay tribute to a great man.

Lennon visited Mallorca at least once, with Yoko Ono. They were both detained in Palma de Mallorca on April 24th, 1971, by Spanish police on charges to do with Kyoko, Ono’s daughter from her first marriage to Anthony Cox.

His first wife, Cynthia Lennon (né Powell) has made Mallorca her home in recent years.

The photo was chosen from my archive. It was taken in the city of Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The date: August 1st, 2007. The time was 12:24:20.
