One does not often see a palm tree pruned back the professional way.

The man seen here had the professional tool, a sharp blade attached to a short handle to shave the leaves off the palm tree. His cabin-lift truck was impressive, too. Jardins de Ciutat seem to know what they are doing.

However, in my experience palm trees should not be shaved or pruned back until the height of the hot season, which would have made it more appropriate to wait until July or August. Although this year we had an early Spring in Mallorca, we seem to be behind in the build-up of warm or even hot temperatures that in other years we have had, here, at this time of year.
