The Mythology of Bulls

The photo depicts a detail from a 2nd Century Roman pavement mosaic in Ilici, now known as Elche (Alicante).

The bull apparently adorned the bust of god Océano (not shown here).

The 2,000 year old mosaic forms part of an exhibition currently on display in Palma de Mallorca (From the Mediterranean to the Andes, at the Ses Voltes exhibition centre) and will continue to be shown there until 29th June. Interesting and informative, if you are curious about things Hispanic. Admission is free.

The photo was taken in Palma de Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: April 30th, 2008. The time was 12:41:38.
