Triassic Park is everywhere, including right here in Mallorca. The Balearic islands had a Triassic period, and a Jurassic one and a Cretaceous one, just the same.
Bones and shells and stones and remnants of these various Mesozoic periods have been found on the island and were studied at the Museo de Ciencias Naturales in Sóller where you can see this display and others in agreeable, informative museum surroundings (as always, you get more out of a visit if you master some of the language requirements, mostly Catalán).
If the lingo fails you, however, the displays are still a marvel to behold, visually, but the great recompense comes outside of the museum’s building where you might want to lose yourself in the wonders of nature, at the Jardín Botánico de Sóller.
Entrance for a combined admission to the museum and the gardens is charged at 5 €.
The photo was taken in Sóller, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: July 17th, 2008. The time was 14:34:58.
