This January seems to turn into a very cold Winter month all over Europe. Temperatures in Britain, Germany, mainland Spain and elsewhere have sunk to well below freezing point, with some Mid-European regions reporting temperatures as low as -25º C, earlier this week.
The weather in Mallorca is not quite as bad as that, nor quite as cold, but a cold snap can be reported here, too. Snow made a big show in Mallorca, the day before yesterday, anywhere above 400 m, for the third time this Winter. Four roads in the Tramuntana mountain region had to be closed for traffic and snow ploughs got busy clearing the snow off some roads. Temperatures are still below 0º C at night, certainly in the upper mountain ranges, which is as cold as it ever gets in Mallorca.
The Mallorca weathermen keep up their yellow alert. The outlook for this weekend is slightly better, though, with temperatures possibly improving a bit and with snow now only predicted above 1,000 or even 1,200 m. But the Mediterranean waters are still relatively warm, with temperatures around 15º C.
So, there.

Do you have photo of the water ways in Soller? We were there 1984 and had to wash clothes in the old water troughs and cannot find our photos. Thank you.
