The Mallorcan chain of Cappuccino Grand Cafés recently added a new outlet to their list, the Cappuccino San Nicolás.
The interior of this new coffee house is designed in a delightful way. The Cappuccino people have taken over the shop premises of Herederos de Vicente Juan Ribas. This tienda was Palma’s first address for roba de llengües (Mallorcan patterned woven fabrics and textiles) for 139 years, but had to close down for good some 24 months ago. But today we can still enjoy the fabrics, yarns and some of the feel of the original shop, because plenty of the old relics (as well as files and folders and account ledger books) are used as part of the interior design of the new coffee house. Plus the old First Aid cabinet, as well.
And the coffee is excellent, too. Treat yourself. Carrer Sant Nicolau, Palma de Mallorca, near the church of Sant Nicolau, just up from Plaça Frederic Chopin. Go soon, before the tourists take over that one, too.
