The XXXth Fira de Sa Perdiu

For thirty years now, the cosy village of Montuïri has celebrated the traditional Fira de Sa Perdiu (Partridge Fair).

Every year, on the second Sunday of December (last Sunday), Montuïri invites visitors to enjoy a dog show, an exhibition of autochthonous Mallorcan farm animals, a wine tasting, various musical and theatre performances, arts and crafts exhibitions, a competition organised by the Club Espanyol de Ca Rater, and, in the main, the annual Concurso de Sa Perdiu (Partridge Competition). The trophy in this year’s event was won by Miquel Font, who can now go forth and represent the Baleares at the forthcoming National Partridge Championship. Good luck to him.

The photo was taken in Montuïri, Mallorca, Spain. The date: December 7th, 2008. The time was 13:14:42.
