Springtime is the time for a Rite of Spring if you so want for many boys and girls in Mallorca, the First Holy Communion. Last weekend this Catholic ritual was celebrated for example in Selva, just up from Inca, for three girls and four boys, all aged between eight and twelve years of age.

The church service was held in Mallorquín, as all church services always are that I have ever attended in Catholic churches here on the island, including wedding celebrations, communions and funerals. I am not a member of the Catholic church or that of any other denomination if you must know, but I do like to get involved in this community and what better way than do as the locals do.
