Summer Festivities

We are right in the middle of this year’s Summer feasts and festivities in Mallorca.

A short while ago, Felanitx celebrated its patron Saint, Santa Margalida, and Santanyí, its patron, Sant Jaume. Last weekend, Sencelles started with celebrations for La Mare de Déu d’Agost del pueblo de Sencelles, and began with a cheerful battle fought with paja (straw) and water: el Embala’t. Alcudia celebrated its Festes de Sant Jaume i Sant Crist and Llombards, the Festes de Sant Domingo.

Now, its coming up for Campos del Port and the Festes de la Mare de Déu d’Agost (until August 21st), Llucmajor, and its patron Saint, Santa Càndida (until August 15th), Porreres and its patron, Sant Roc (until August 16th), and Cala d’Or, with the Festes de Santa Maria del Mar (until August 21st). The Festes de Sant Llorenç des Cardassar continue until August 14th. Can Picafort celebrates the Festes de la Mare de Déu d’Agost until August 15th, culminating on Sunday with its traditional duck throwing event (12h00).

And finally, Felanitx will celebrate its second patron Saint, Sant Agustí, from August 20th to 28th.

Bones festes.
