The XVI Fira de la Serra de Tramuntana started yesterday at the Santuari de Lluc and will continue today, October 10th. Now, you may well have set your thoughts on going to Cala Rajada today to enjoy the delights of the Mostra de la Llampuga there, also scheduled for today, or the Tercera Fira in Llucmajor but, I would rather recommend an outing into the Serra de Tramuntana and up to the municipality of Escorca, instead. A pdf-file with information of all the events can be downloaded from the Govern de les Illes Balears website, albeit in Catalan only. Amongst other appealing suggestions, a free visit of the Jardí Botànic de Lluc or an excursion to see the Voltors Negres (Black Vultures) at the Clot d’Albarca, are on offer. Plus there will be a Mostra de productes agroalimentaris, of food specific to the Tramuntana region, and an assortment of participating exhibitors concerned with conservation and environmental protection, including GOB.
