La Immaculada Concepció

There must be over 300 churches and chapels in Mallorca. Most of these churches are pretty dark inside, sombre, forbidding, authoritarian, almost fear inspiring. The parish church in Ca’s Concos d’es Cavaller, dedicated to La Immaculada Concepció, makes an exception to the rule by being inundated with daylight and airy, without losing any of its serenity. On first impression, the village itself appears to be dull, grey, boring, shut down, unsophisticated, even backward. Luckily, first impressions mislead as they so often do. The pueblo is, in fact, in some way very much alive, rather agreeable and almost en vogue.

The photo was taken near Ca’s Concos d’es Cavaller, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: September 12th, 2010. The time was 12:53:07.
