A solar flare might have caused the windy rain conditions over the last day or two, here in Mallorca. Whatever it was, a Yellow alert had been given by AEMet, the Spanish National Meteorological Institute, for Mallorca’s coastal regions with high waves. There was masses of rain and high winds everywhere, and snow was forecast above 1000 metres. Accordingly, temperatures had dropped over the last two days.
For the weekend, temperatures are expected to rise again, the rain will retreat and winds will calm down. Yellow alert is restricted for today only to the Bay of Alcúdia, and no more alert is expected for this weekend. Phew.
