Knick-Knacks

Many years ago, there were a number of outlets in Palma de Mallorca for knick-knacks, antiques, bric-a-brac, whatever you choose to call them. Nowadays, either demand has gone back in a big way or the trade has moved elsewhere, perhaps to the street markets of Llucmajor or Consell. Perhaps you know better. In any case, I discovered a largish, well-stocked bric-a-brac dealer on the outskirts of Palma, opposite Magatzem Verd. Prices are unreasonably high in my opinion but, this is a place where one can find any old item or household good of Mallorcan times gone by, including some real gems.

The photo was taken in Palma de Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: May 16th, 2011. The time was 14:02:45.

  1. Fairly new to Spain, and certainly to Mallorca, a number of Charity shops have opened on the island in the last few years. There you will find large selections of bric a brac, second hand books, clothes, etc. If you’re patient and visit regularly, you will also find treasures!
