One of the good things about Mallorca, in my humble opinion anyway, is the absence of Starbucks coffee houses.
Instead, Mallorca takes pride in a plenitude of bars, restaurants and other such establishments, all catering for customers such as locals, forasters (i. e. people from the mainland), visitors, tourists, and expatriates like me. According to the Palma based Centre de Recerca Econòmica (CRE) there exists a total of 4,174 restaurants, 2,188 cafeterias and 4,364 bars in all of the Balearic Islands. My guess is, that some 70 % of those figures would apply to Mallorca alone.
The photo was taken inside the bar where I normally take my morning café solo, but I must state that on a dry day I prefer to sit outside, in the Plaza España.
The photo was taken in the town of Felanitx, Mallorca, Spain. The date: October 27th, 2007. The time was 11:43:24.
