The new Mezquita Sunna Felanitx has been a long time in the coming, but now only very little is needed for its completion. In fact, prayers were held in the new mosque yesterday (Friday) at around 13h00 as had been for the previous two Fridays.
The Final d’Obra has not been signed yet and thus, the Permís d’Obertura is still missing. Mains water and electricity still need to be connected. But in a couple of weeks’ time the grand day of inauguration should finally have arrived, Insha’Allah.
In the meantime the rented premises in Carrer de la Mar are still being used as the local mosque during all other days. I went there a few days ago and was allowed in to take a couple of photographs. In a way, it seemed as if one was pleased about my curiosity and interest; an indication perhaps that the local folks of Felanitx seem to shy away from contacts with their Maghrebian vecinos.
The djellabahs in my photo are not an obligatory garment for conducting one’s prayers in the direction of the rising sun but are available in case one would want to wear one.

I am sorry but I do not know of any mosque in the Palma Nova area; for sure there will be one nearby. The bus no. 5 will take you from Plaça d’Espanya in the centre of Palma to the Pere Garau area in less than 10 minutes. The imam at the mosque in Carrer Joan Mestre will be able to give you all the information you need.

there is no mosque in Alcúdia to my knowledge. There is a Sunna mosque in Sa Pobla, some 15 km from Alcúdia, and another one in Inca, at 26 km from Alcúdia. There is a good bus service from Alcúdia to Inca (L351), connecting both in about 30 minutes at 09h30, 10h00, 10h30, 11h00, 11h30, 12h30, 13h30 and 14h00, etc. There is no direct bus connection from Alcúdia to Sa Pobla. You would have to go to Inca on bus L351 and then go to Sa Pobla from Inca by train (T2). The combined bus/train connection would take you roughly 90 minutes, or even longer, depending on the time of the day.
I do not know of any mosque service in the Sa Coma area. The nearest Sunna mosque would be in Manacor at 20 km. There is a bus at 09h15, 10h15 and 11h10 etc. (L412) connecting Sa Coma with Manacor in about 45 minutes time.
Beware of pickpockets at bus queues at all times.

there are two mosques in Inca, both within walking distance of the bus terminal. The first one is the Mezquita Al Fajr in Carrer de Can Rayó no. 56, at about 500 m from the terminal (map). The second one at 800 m from the terminal is the Al Sabr mosque (mezquita) in Carrer de Sant Francesc no. 65 (map2).

I have now found out that there is a mosque in Alcúdia after all. Sadly I cannot provide you with an address but once you arrive there safely you will easily find out where to go for your prayers. Jummah prayers on Friday are at about 13h45 local time. In total, there are now 48 mosques here in Mallorca.

yes, there are a number of halal butchers on the island, certainly in larger towns such as Manacor, Inca and Palma. There are plenty of shops selling halal meat, in virtually every pueblo on the island.

the address of the mosque in Manacor is: Calle de Torre (between Calle Pilar and Calle Simo Tort. That is opposite of the Sa Torre sports centre).
I do not have an address for the mosque in Portocristo, sorry. But I am sure any brother would be able to give it to you or point you in the right direction once you are in Cala Mandia.
The distance from Cala Mandia to Portocristo is only 4 km on foot, or 7 km by car or bus.

These in Alcúdia, Andratx, Calvià, Campanet, Campos, Colònia de Sant Jordi, Felanitx, Inca, Manacor, Muro, Palma, Petra, Porto Cristo, Santa Margalida, Santanyí, Sa Pobla, Ses Salines, Sineu, Sóller, Vilafranca. Palma de Mallorca is the island capital and maybe it would be best to seek accommodation there for your holiday in the company of your dear mother. There are plenty of good and clean hotels in Palma. thanks for the compliments. I try my best. As far as women gathering at mosques in Mallorca is concerned, it would seem that most women prefer to go Fridays at noon, but there is no set rule. Women can go at any prayer time, any day of the week, just like men. But women and men are segregated during prayer time. Here in Felanitx, the ladies gather upstairs, whilst men pray downstairs. I hope this helps, and I hope this does not come too late.

I’m afraid I didn’t note the address of the butcher but it is within a 5 minute walk of the masjid. I’m sure if you’ll find it if you ask anyone at the mosque.

there are currently 30 mosques in Mallorca: 6 in Palma, 2 in sa Pobla, 2 in Manacor and 2 in Inca, plus one each in Lloseta, Pollença, Alcúdia, Felanitx, Maria de la Salut, Muro, Santa Margalida, Sóller, Vilafranca, ses Salines, Santanyí, Porreres and Campos. All these places with mosques also have shops where halal products are sold, including halal butchers.

there are currently 48 mosques in the Balearic Islands, 35 of which are in Mallorca.
You will find mosques in Alcúdia, Andratx, Calvià, Campanet, Campos, Colònia de Sant Jordi, Felanitx, Inca (2), Lloseta, Manacor (2), Muro, Palma (11), Petra, Porto Cristo, sa Pobla, Santa Margalida, Santanyí, ses Salines, Sineu, Sóller, Vilafranca.
There are four mosques on the island of Ibiza, one in Formentera and four on the island of Menorca.
The nearest mosque to Palmanova can be found in Calvià. In fact, Palmanova is part of the municipality of Calvià. It should be easy to locate the exact address of the mosque once you are in Palmanova.

there is no mezquita in Llucmajor as yet. The nearest mosque to Salida 20 would be in Palma, the island capital. There are 11 mosques in Palma. You best ask at the hotel reception which one would be the nearest to you.

I am very happy to help but I have to point out that I am not really an expert on Muslim affairs in Mallorca. I know that there are 6 mosques in Palma, the main one of which is in the Pere Garau district. The imán there is called Younes Chaer and I suppose he would have the answers for you. There are plenty of Halal butchers on the island, again many of which in Pere Garau, but I do not know of a specific address of halal restaurants. Please ask in any of the Moroccan shops in Pere Garau. Ramadan mubarak.

I have replied to your questions already via hatsApp. You contacted me two days ago. This is Klaus. The nearest masjid or mosque would appear to be in Santanyí, some 15 kms from your hotel. Or else in Felanitx, 16 kms from your hotel. I have not found out about halal places in either Cala d’Or or Santanyí. There are one or two Kebab places but I am not sure that their offer is halal. You will have to ask one or the other brother once you have arrived in Cala d’Or. Salām. Have a safe flight.
