The Hospital General de Palma de Mallorca is one of the oldest hospitals on the island, going back in its origins to the 15th century, with the exception perhaps of the Hospital Militar which was closed a couple of years ago.
As the hospital is so old, it is not really very popular any longer with the Palma population except for the elderly who remember the hospital from days gone by.
Recently, I accidentally peaked through one of the hospital’s ground floor windows and saw this amazing and pretty old-looking pharmacy. The apothecary may date from the early 19th century; it is not open to the public as it only serves for the needs of the hospital and its patients. I could not enter and was obliged to sneak a photo through the window pane. I hope you don’t mind.
The photo was taken in Palma de Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: December 29th, 2009. The time was 11:20:10.
