The Dupont Nitrate Company in Chile was, in its days, best known for agricultural commodities and fertilizers. Their main product, Nitrato de Chile, not only was a bestseller in Spain and in Mallorca, but its glazed tiles publicity signs were also, and are to this day, very eye catching. One of these publicity signs, dated circa 1925, can still be seen on the sides of a water mill tower along the road from Son Ferriol to Sa Casa Blanca and Sant Jordi.
