For the last four or five days there has been a constant hum in the air around Felanitx, in fact, around nearly all Mallorca. It wasn’t bees, it was bikes. Motorbikes. Harley-Davidsons, to be precise. A total of 350 Fat Boys, Electras, Softails, Fat Bobs and such like have been gathering in Cala Serena, not far from Cala d’Or, in what is called the 5th Mallorca Bike Week. It all was, and still is, happening in Club Robinson, from November 1st to 7th. The event is strictly Germanic, involving some 480 bike enthusiasts from Germany, Austria and Switzerland but, who can blame them. Mallorca at this time of year is a beautiful island and the sun is still out on most days. The middle-aged riders crisscrossed the island, from Sant Salvador to Formentor and from the Tramuntana to the Polígono Son Castelló in Palma. All motorbikes, helmets, leather jackets and boots were specially shipped to Mallorca for the one-week-event. So far, there have been no accidents. Good luck for today and tomorrow. Peace.

Muchas gracias.
I thoroughly enjoy your photos. They often show what is really beautiful about this island and its people. As for this one, you deserve a prize for your sense of irony ….. “peace” indeed!
But of course the Robinson Club is well known for its negative contributions to Mallorca. Not only by what it has itself done to the serenity of Cala Serena, but also by its willingness to promote pollution around the island by groups such as Mercedes dealers and these bikers.
