The Bandstand in Llucmajor

When the Plaça d’Espanya in Llucmajor was remodelled and yuppified about one year ago, I was horrified to note that the splendid bandstand which had graced the central square just about forever, had simply vanished. It was not included in the newly inaugurated plaça. Consequently, the square looked sterile if not plain dead, muerto, tot, mort, stanco, whatever you wish to call it.

To cut a long story of frustration and unhappiness short, let me tell you that the Llucmajor bandstand is now back. Life has been given back to the central square of this pleasant town and a visit can now be thoroughly recommended. It is time to reconnect with Llucmajor, its fine bars and restaurants as well as its friendly people. What are you waiting for?

The photo was taken in Llucmajor, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: August 18th, 2011. The time was 11:19:03.

    • hola esperanza,
greetings to spokane. thank you for your ver y enthusiastic comments. the aceras are not needed any longer as now the complete plaza has been made pedestrian only. cars have been banned from the inner city and many of the streets that previously were open to cars are now for pedestrians only, as well. you should come back for a visit before another ten years pass by.

  2. Hello again,
my parents home for so many years was Plaza España 22. I miss my town so much… My kids play at the padrisos in their Mallorca vacations!!
