I came across a graffiti the other day that riddled me. I couldn’t make out what it was or is about. Perhaps it’s an announcement for a Rock band, maybe it’s a street poem or a declaration of love. Mallorca is full of secrets and surprises if only one is prepared to encounter them.
Perhaps one of my loyal visitors can help with this baffling message. The language may be a clue: the message was written in Castellano, not Catalán. In Felanitx where the graffiti was found the locals and in particular the youngsters predominantly speak Mallorquí (Catalán).
The photo was taken in Felanitx, Mallorca, Baleares, Spain. The date: September 1st, 2011. The time was 12:19:48.
Mucho amor is opposed to Poca tecnica. But we must guess what the name is about so that we understand how these two descriptions fit in. A lot of love, little technique… hmmm… What could it be?
After some searching I’ve found this site: http://www.myspace.com/skiphopunk/
It seems that Skiphö is a band based in Andratx. One of their videos on Youtube starts with the making of a graffiti which is similar in some way. They use a stencil that’s why the ö is open. Regarding their music I guess the statement is a joke.
i had thought that it might be a band but had not heard of skiphö before.
thanks for the search and your comment.
Hello i am the drummer of SKIPHÖ, SKIPHÖ in italian language means discust but the correct form is SCHIFO. the PH and the K is cooler and the ö is a MÖTÖRHEAD tribute.
Thanks for taking the picture. the world is so small.
I hope you enjoy ower music. it is not a joke. we have passion and hate.
thanks for contacting me. i also published the same photo on .
check it out. i found one of your pieces on youtube. i’d like to hear/watch more. i don’t think it’s a joke.
