The Tramuntana Snow Show

Easter was full of weather surprises this year. Britain, Germany and the north of Spain had massive amounts of snow but, surprisingly, Mallorca’s mountain region was not far behind.

I can offer you no better photo than this one taken near Felanitx, with Puig Major and Puig Massanella both covered in snow. If you look closely enough you can just about make them out in my photo with their snow capped peaks. Snow had fallen during the night from Saturday to Sunday above 800 m. More snow fell last night and even more is still forecast for today for heights above 700 m.

The photo was taken near Felanitx, Mallorca, Spain. The date: March 23rd, 2008. The time was 14:04:04.
